The "Tax Rule Maintenance" grid allows you to maintain the tax rules and the information about them.
To access the grid in the Console menu, go to Setup > Tax Rule Maintenance.
When the application has loaded, the "Tax Rule Maintenance" grid appears on the screen.
When you click Edit or Add, the "Tax Rule Maintenance" pop-up appears. This pop-up contains the following tabs:
General Commodity Codes
Use these tabs to maintain the key elements of a tax rule.
Use the the General tab to maintain general tax rule information and to configure options.
The General tab contains the following elements:
General Information | |

Tax Rule Name | The name of your tax rule. |
Ship From Jurisdiction | The location from which the Item/s are being shipped. |
Ship To Jurisdiction | The location to which the Item/s are being shipped. |
Basis | The starting value or basic tax on an Item if one applies. |
Rate | The tax rate. |
Taxable | A checkbox that when checked identifies the tax rule as taxable. |
Tax Exempt by Exemption Number | A checkbox that when checked enables Items to be deemed tax exempt by exemption number. |
Tax Exempt Freight by Exemption Number | A checkbox that when checked enables Items to be deemed tax exempt frieght by exemption number. |
