Server Configuration Settings for TLS Version

TLS Selection Option for External Provider Communications (#9265)

The Tools > Application Settings Maintenance screen has been updated to include a new tab called Server Configuration Settings.

Within the tab, a Communication Protocols section allows for setting which version of TLS is to be used for all outbound connections including third party providers for Shipping and Credit Card processing as well as all SYSPRO communication queries and posts submitted via e.net.

Note:

Industry-wide end of life for TLS versions prior to 1.2 is currently underway. As of January 2018, UPS no longer receives requests of TLS 1.0. As of February 28, 2018 Authorize.NET will no longer receive requests of TLS 1.0 and 1.1. And finally as of June 30, 2018 PCI compliance requires full deprecation of TLS 1.0 and 1.1 in favor of TLS 1.2.

The default configuration is to use the TLS v1.2 protocol.

Important Note:

Industry and PCI best practices require use of TLS 1.2 only. Using TLS 1.0 and 1.1 are not recommended in production environments and should only be used in temporary situations in order to allow time for connected SYSPRO systems to be upgraded as needed by end user IT resources.

For more information please see the Configuring CyberStore to Support TLS 1.2 topic.
