Mobile Confirmation Instructions Email

The Mobile Confirmation Instructions email explains how an Account can confirm a mobile number and opt in to SMS text messaging for multi-factor authentication. A Management Console user sends it to an Account from Customers > Account Maintenance > Email.

Changing a mobile number in Account Maintenance does not confirm SMS opt-in. The shopper must complete confirmation on the storefront.

Configure the template

In Setup > Email Manager, edit Linkname MobileConfirmationInstructions.

The default subject is

Opt-In to SMS Text Messaging for Multi-Factor Authentication!.

The body should direct the shopper to sign in, open Account editing, enable SMS for MFA, request a confirmation code, and submit that code. Adjust navigation wording to match the Site without weakening the opt-in requirement.

Replacement tags

This email supports the shared tags plus:

Tag Value
[Account Email Address] Account email address.
[Global] Global Message configured for the Site.
[WebAddress] Web address configured for the Site.

Test the result

Send the instructions from a test Account’s Email tab. Confirm delivery, storefront navigation, the opt-in and code-confirmation sequence, and clear wording that SMS enrollment is optional and requires confirmation.
