Preferred Unit of Measure
Preferred Unit of Measure establishes the default UOM CyberStore uses for items throughout a site. Configure it in Site Manager > Catalog Configuration > General.

| Stocking Unit of Measure | Prefers the item’s SYSPRO stocking UOM. |
| Alternate Unit of Measure | Prefers the item’s alternate UOM when defined and visible. |
| Other Unit of Measure | Prefers the item’s other UOM when defined and visible. |
The preferred selection does not make a UOM available by itself. A UOM must be both defined in SYSPRO and visible in CyberStore.
Defined units
The Stocking UOM is always defined. CyberStore treats an Alternate or Other UOM as undefined when its conversion factor is 0 or its label is the same as the Stocking UOM label.
Visible units
Use Item Maintenance > Pricing > Available Units of Measure to select the units shoppers can use. An otherwise valid Alternate or Other UOM is not available when its Show selection is cleared.
Fallback order
If the configured preferred UOM is not both defined and visible for an item, CyberStore searches for an available unit in this order:
- Stocking UOM.
- Alternate UOM.
- Other UOM.
If no defined UOM is visible, CyberStore cannot complete processes that require a unit, including storefront pricing and ordering.
