Available to Promise (ATP)

Available to Promise (ATP) helps a shopper determine whether a requested quantity is expected to be available for a desired ship date or date range. SYSPRO calculates projected supply and demand; CyberStore stores the relevant ATP detail and applies it during storefront ordering.

ATP is a projection, not the current inventory quantity. Today’s ATP result can differ substantially from current inventory because planned receipts, production, allocations, and shipments may not yet have occurred.

ATP source data

SYSPRO ATP considers on-hand inventory across warehouses together with demand from sales orders and expected supply from purchase orders and production schedules. Because calculating the complete projection during each shopper interaction is impractical, CyberStore synchronizes ATP details into its database through the ATPUpdate Operation.

The synchronized scope can intentionally differ from the full SYSPRO result. For example, an ATP update can be limited to selected warehouses, and the applicable SYSPRO ATP setup can include or exclude planning inputs. Compare CyberStore results with the intended operational scope before using them for customer commitments.

See ATP Update for scheduling, warehouse parameters, reports, and result review.

CyberStore calculation

For a requested date, CyberStore adds the stored ATP details through and including that date. It then subtracts quantities from sales-order lines received through CyberStore since the last ATP synchronization, converting those lines to the stocking UOM for comparison.

For a requested date range, CyberStore calculates each included date and returns the lowest ATP quantity in the range. This prevents a positive result on one day from hiding a shortfall on another day in the requested interval.

Storefront behavior

When ATP is enabled, the shopper supplies a requested ship date or range. As items are added, CyberStore compares the requested quantity with the stored projection for that period. The configured exceeded action determines what happens when the requested quantity is not available.

Site-wide ATP behavior is maintained in Site Manager > Catalog Configuration > Quantity Settings:

Setting Effect
Available to Promise Enables ATP evaluation in addition to the normal inventory lookup.
Available to Promise Message Defines the shopper message and supports [Qty], [UOM], [StockCode], [RequestedDate], and [RequestedEndDate].
ATP Exceeded Add to Cart Action Controls the response when requested quantity exceeds the ATP result.
Max Days for Available to Promise Limits the ATP evaluation horizon. A requested date beyond the limit is treated as available to promise.
ATP Buffer Withholds the configured quantity from ATP availability.

Customer Class settings can disable site ATP, override the message, or override the maximum-day horizon for class members. See Customer Class Defaults and Pricing.

Validate ATP behavior

After configuration or synchronization changes:

  1. Run or review the latest ATP Update and confirm the expected warehouses were refreshed.
  2. Test an item and Customer with known SYSPRO ATP activity.
  3. Compare a single requested date with the corresponding stored projection.
  4. Test a range that includes a lower-availability date and confirm the lowest result governs.
  5. Place a CyberStore order after synchronization and confirm its quantity is subtracted until the next update incorporates it.
  6. Verify the site and Customer Class messages and exceeded action.
