Pricing
CyberStore pricing combines product and customer context to determine the unit price a shopper sees and pays. A price can change when any of the following changes:
- Stock code.
- Quantity.
- Customer.
- Currency.
- Unit of measure (UOM).
All displayed item prices are unit prices in the applicable UOM. Extended amounts and order totals are calculated from those unit prices and quantities.
Choose a pricing strategy
Use SYSPRO pricing as the primary method when prices and discounts should apply across sales channels and be maintained centrally. CyberStore evaluates SYSPRO pricing first and uses the result as the base price for the storefront transaction.
Use CyberStore pricing features for web-specific outcomes:
- Use item or category discounts for automatic storefront price adjustments. These discounts change the item price sent to SYSPRO and appear as the final line price.
- Use promotion codes for campaign-based or conditional order discounts that require shopper input. Promotion discounts appear in the order totals and are sent to SYSPRO as negative miscellaneous lines.
- Use CyberStore surcharge fees, accessory price breaks, and relative-price presentation when the requirement is specific to the storefront.
Overlapping discount strategies can produce unintended results. Keep core pricing in SYSPRO where practical, and use CyberStore adjustments for requirements that apply only to the web channel.
How pricing layers interact
Pricing follows a layered sequence:
- SYSPRO determines the base price and applies supported standard, contract, TPM, or invoice-line pricing.
- CyberStore receives that price in the context of the active Customer, stock code, quantity, currency, and UOM.
- CyberStore applies qualifying item, category, accessory, surcharge, or promotion rules.
- Storefront visibility rules determine which comparison and selling prices the shopper can see.
